Elementary bannerDear Parents:

As the 6th grade students are preparing for middle school and taking on more social responsibilities, it is as important as ever for them to learn how to set healthy boundaries. Relationships with peers, social media and self -esteem are all intertwined into a challenging time most tweens face. My goal is to help students better protect themselves and become empowered to make the best decisions they can.

To help empower students, Gary Norris and Victoria Crowder from Fighting Forward Self Defense, will be presenting their program, The COBRA Defense Systems Bully Response Plan, to the 6th grade classes. This program consists of the following:

• Kids will learn confidence and empowerment when threatened on line or faced with a bully
• The Self Defense Mindset will be introduced which will talk about who can be a threat and how to best respond
• How to verbalize in a threatening situation
• Recognize ‘Shark Infested Waters’, and what not to do and why
• Step by step action plan on how to rally your support team, gather evidence and protect themselves if a student is truly attacked by a bully
• Effective self-defense physical techniques to help protect themselves

We would LOVE to have parents join us for this powerful and meaningful presentation. It will take place in the PAC on March 13th from 1:45-2:45 pm.
