PARENTS AS TEACHERS 3 & 4 YEAR OLD SCREENING
The P.A.T.’s 3 and 4-year-old screening will be available to ALL 3 and 4 year old children in the West Platte R-II District. The screening dates are March 26 and 27, 2020. Appointments for screening times can be made by calling the elementary office at 640-2811.
KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP
West Platte Elementary will hold a Kindergarten Roundup night on April 23, 2020. We will begin at 6 pm in the Performing Arts Center. This is a fun evening designed to give all new Kindergartners and their parents the opportunity to meet the staff and to gather important information about Kindergarten. No appointment is necessary. Just come ready to have some fun!
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION & SCREENING
Registration and screening dates for the 2020-2021 West Platte Kindergarten students are April 30, and May 1, 2020. To be eligible for Kindergarten your child must be five (5) years of age BEFORE August 1, 2020. There will be no early assessments.
If you have a child eligible to attend Kindergarten this fall please call the elementary office at 640-2811 to schedule an appointment. To register your child for Kindergarten, you will need to bring your child’s immunization records, a copy of the birth certificate (not the hospital certificate), and two forms of proof of residency on the day of registration. Proof of residency can be something as simple as a phone bill, electric bill, property tax statement or renter’s agreement. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child because of a required signature on the entrance forms.
Your child will be screened in the areas of motor development, concepts, and speech/language. Vision and hearing screenings will also be done.
